ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Enters accounts payable invoices and verifies posting accuracy as needed.
Responsible for the assignment of inventory control tags to assets purchased by the organization. Assists with on-site inspections and tagging of assets prior to new branch openings for business or a remodel area is ready for occupancy.
Reviews reports provided by property management company, where applicable, and prepares month end vouchers to record activity in the general ledger. For properties not managed by a property management company, completes all applicable accounting for lessors within VyStar’s property management software. Communicates with other VyStar department such as facilities to ensure that the accounting is accurate and complete. Identifies potential issues and brings them to the attention of the General Accounting Manager and Controller.
Assists with compliance of lease accounting, both lessor and lessee. Reviews all leases for applicable General Accepted Accounting Treatment (GAAP). Prepares monthly vouchers to record lease accounting entries. Serves as key employee in implementing changes to new Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) lease accounting.
Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Minimum of two years of lease accounting and other general accounting functions experience required, with financial services industry experience preferred.
Solid technical skills for accounting, reporting, and analysis with a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Ability to produce work of high quality and accuracy under tight deadlines; organized self-starter with advanced problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize workload and to perform in a fast-paced corporate environment; high concentration level with ability to perform complex tasks timely and efficiently.
Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
Excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; excellent research and computation skills with strong attention to detail.
Organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement; possesses the experience and judgment to plan and accomplish various complex goals and objectives
Should have familiarity with basic accounting practices and procedures and the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish various goals and objectives and meet structured accounting-related deadlines. Must be a detail-oriented individual with the ability to perform a variety of tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Job requirements include a high concentration level and a high level of accuracy. Must be an organized self-starter with good problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree preferred, at minimum an Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence and two years of experience, or equivalent work experience of three to five years relevant to the lease accounting and other general accounting field. Experience working in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of and familiarity with the use of Microsoft Excel,Word, PowerPoint and Crystal Reports and/or other report writing applications.
