Broker Account Manager At Export-Import Bank of the United States

Job Description

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is seeking trade finance professionals to fill several business development positions throughout the United States. In addition to international finance experience and knowledge of international risk mitigation techniques, ideal candidates will have insurance broker experience selling or underwriting export credit insurance for services and goods.

EXIM Banks mission is to support American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. When private sector lenders are unable or unwilling to provide financing, EXIM fills in the gap by equipping them with the financing support necessary to compete for global sales.

This position will serve as a Broker Account Manager.

- Yes: Overnight travel is required for this position.

Duties

- Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

o (1) Trains and advises assigned export credit insurance brokers in determining the appropriate EXIM products to best meet their clients' needs. Assists in the application process of all EXIM Bank products, including eligibility, program requirements, fees and credit requirements. Provides guidance to brokers and their clients regarding all EXIM Bank eligibility requirements, policies and procedures;

o (2) Serves as a public speaker in the assigned geographic territory or special initiatives assignment on behalf of EXIM Bank. As applicable, attends domestic trade shows and seminars that showcase EXIM Bank risk mitigation opportunities to attendees. As needed, organizes and serves as speaker for training seminars and marketing events.

o (3) Works with brokers to design, implement, and monitor marketing plans for assigned broker accounts or special initiatives assignment within the Office of Small Business. Prepares reports advising management on the status of these initiatives.

- At the full performance level, duties include, but are not limited to:

o Develop and execute an account plan with each of your assigned brokers. Review and manage that account plan in collaboration with other EXIM stakeholders, including underwriting, marketing, and asset management;

o Manage and assist brokers on dispositioning leads provided by EXIM. Report and monitor on the status and quality of those leads;

o Receive a positive response from the majority of the "customer experience surveys" sent to your assigned brokers;

o Act as a partner advocate within EXIM for each of your assigned brokers;

o Make improvement suggestions based on your experience supporting brokers;

o Maintenance and management of the marketing database to be utilized in a multitude of ways in support of the Office of Small Business's and EXIM's mission

Qualifications

Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):

- GS-12: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:

o Knowledge of the export credit and political risk insurance industry

o Experience working closely with export credit insurance brokers. This includes customer identification, vetting, application, and servicing.

o Experience selling and promoting services, manufactured capital goods and consumer goods and/or experience in international financial banking

o Knowledge of basic financial statement analysis skills

o Knowledge of international risk mitigation techniques

o Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) database system to manage client interactions

- GS-13: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:

o Knowledge of the export credit and political risk insurance industry

o Experience as a licensed export credit insurance broker, or as an export credit and political risk insurance underwriter. This includes customer identification, vetting, application, and servicing.

o Experience selling and promoting services, manufactured capital goods and consumer goods and/or experience in international financial banking

o Knowledge of basic financial statement analysis skills

o Knowledge of international risk mitigation techniques

o Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) database system to manage client interactions

o Knowledge of international payment terms and international shipping terms

Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12/13 grade levels.
