Senior Leadership Development Advisor At EXPORT DEVELOPMENT CANADA

Team & Job Overview


The Sr. Leadership Development Advisor reports to the Director, Workforce Strategy and Culture and is accountable for developing an organization-wide vision, strategies and implementation plan for a comprehensive, integrated leadership programs framework.


The role is responsible for reviewing current leadership programming, conducting needs assessments to identify gaps, and drawing on the latest research to design, develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate leadership programs for various organizational levels. This role establishes the appropriate metrics to measure the impact of leadership programs to ensure their effectiveness and the return on investment for the organization. The Sr. Leadership Development Advisor will determine the appropriate mix of internal and external resources, and partner with institutional experts where possible to provide best-in-class programs that are cost effective.


Discipline Summary

  • Supports corporate strategy and transformation by developing, implementing and evaluating employee and organizational development plans and programs;
  • Supports organizational needs as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines, such as change management, leadership development, talent management, succession planning, technical or nontechnical training, or e-learning;
  • Analyzes the organizational needs and structures, determines changes to organizational responsibilities, staffing, managerial skills and the quality of work life;
  • Monitors employee development and training programs, assesses needs and results, develops new programs and modifies existing programs;
  • Ensures policy/program initiatives support the enterprise's strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides change management, organizational design and development consulting advisory services;
  • Identifies process improvements and integrates these into ongoing updates of methodologies and tools;
  • Leads the design and delivery of an integrated leadership development solutions and programs to increase organizational effectiveness through organizational design, change management and employee and organizational development;
  • Analyzes and diagnoses performance, development and learning needs flowing from corporate priorities and key stakeholder requirements;
  • Plays a key role in the design and development of specific initiatives and associated communication to support the successful delivery of HR and Organizational and Employee Development strategic priorities;
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring and team-building skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills;
  • Strong research and analytical skills;
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy and persuasion;
  • Demonstrated political acumen, ability to think strategically and to lead and champion institutional change;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a consultative team environment.

Screening Criteria

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration or in a related field
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Leadership, team and/or organizational development, or related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Leadership, team, employee and/or organizational development principles and practices

Assets

  • Bilingual in both official languages (French and English)
  • Certified Human Resource Leader

Salary Range

  • $73,000 - $109,000, plus performance-based incentive
