Exponent’s Materials & Corrosion Engineering Practice is currently hiring an Engineer/Associate in our Menlo Park, CA office. The ideal candidate should have a strong materials science and/or chemical engineering background in order to contribute to the fast-developing portable energy consulting services at Exponent. The candidate should possess a fundamental understanding of at least one battery component (e.g. lithium ion cathodes, anodes, separators), which will enable them to work effectively in a team conducting failure analyses as well as quality control assistance for a wide variety of clients, particularly in the consumer electronics space.
Responsibilities will include communicating effectively with other engineers, managers, and clients to apply this experience to solve challenging, real-world battery, electrochemistry, and materials problems for our clients. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers and will play a key role in designing and running hands-on experiments, as well as interpreting and presenting data. You are detailed-oriented, display excellent written and verbal communication skills, and will contribute in preparing reports and presenting results to clients.
