Marketing & Sales Specialist At Baycrest

Baycrest Residential Properties has an opportunity for a


MARKETING & SALES SPECIALIST, FULL TIME


70 HOURS BI-WEEKLY, NON-UNION



The Terraces of Baycrest is a Retirement Residence complex for 210 seniors. It will be connected to the new Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness which will open in the summer of 2020. The Kimel Centre will be the first of its kind in Canada and it will be a shining example of what is possible in the realm of brain health and aging. The Terraces Health Centre provides primary care to the Terraces residents who reside in individual apartments within the building.



Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Drives and implements the marketing and sales plans, in conjunction with Manager of Marketing, Marketing and Finance teams
  • Interacts with current residents during internal and external events
  • Implements a community outreach plan to generate leads from professionals and from prospects
  • Conducts tours, including evenings and weekends, ensuring vacant suites are ready to show to prospective clients
  • Monitors competition in the marketplace, keeps competitor information current and maintains an awareness of industry trends and activities
  • Supports brand management for Baycrest Residential Properties (Terraces and Two Neptune – a mixed life lease and rental building
  • Works with contractors , and other trades to upgrade apartments within tight deadlines
  • Supports and builds capacity for a customer oriented focus by educating staff regarding retirement living trends

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Post-secondary education with a preference to Business Administration, with a major in Sales, Marketing, Communication or Public Relations
  • Minimum 2 years of business experience, preferably in the retirement home industry, hospitality, health care, fundraising, or consumer sales sectors
  • Sales skills with proven track record of success in direct sales
  • Proficiency with online technologies and social media is preferred
  • Knowledge of Act Database software or other data base management software preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, which may include some weekends and/or evenings
  • Ability to demonstrate personal tact, empathy and patience with seniors and their families
