Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position is on the day shift and located at our manufacturing facility in Alliston, one hour north of Toronto. The Project Engineer will manage all aspects of assigned plant projects from concept, through implementation until final close. The Engineer will provide technical and project management support to key plant stakeholders: - Manage the design, installation and execution of projects to successfully meet all customer requirements. Manage project scope, schedule, costs, quality, contractors & assigned resources. Communicate and hold project status, planning and problem solving meetings. Produce project schedule, costs & progress reports. Effectively manage issues, conflicts and changes that arise. - Identify, develop, evaluate and execute technical solutions as required, for Value Improvement Projects (VIPs), process & productivity improvements/automation, system/facility upgrades and other projects to support quality/regulatory and EHS. Provide various types of engineering support to all internal plant customers as required. - Develop, update and review validations, engineering specifications, SOPs, standards, operating manuals and other technical documentation. Develop clear technical documents to describe processes and their state of validation. - Lead and contribute to Process Management Teams to improve the operator and machine processes, improve preventative maintenance, resolve issues, maintain and improve production and quality targets, manage repair and maintenance costs, implement new process changes and increase equipment and process knowledge through training and benchmarking. - University degree, Bachelor of Engineering. - Project Management certification from PMI or a related institute is as asset. - 3-5 years Project engineering experience (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) in food or healthcare manufacturing. - Experience in Allen Bradley/Rockwell programming and Robotics. - Fluid process design experience with expertise in thermodynamics. - Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liase with both small and large work groups. - Ability to bring structure to a team or process so that efforts are concerted and organized. Ability to make key decisions in the face of ambiguity, and effectively balance accuracy and timeliness. - Excels at simplification allowing non-technical team members to understand the issues. - Produces correct, concise documents detailing technical content. - Strengths in MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Access/Visio) and AutoCAD software. - Able to read, create, manipulate and review both 2D and 3D drawings, manually and using AutoCAD software.
