Talent Acquisition Coordinator At Aecon

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Immigration and Mobility, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for providing professional client-focused support, with a strong emphasis on immigration and mobility, recruitment and selection and talent sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Selection



Responsible for sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates for various business units

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business units and hiring managers
  • Develop recruitment strategies for key roles
  • Post internal and external positions
  • Manage and report talent acquisition metrics
  • Meet with vendors to discuss hiring needs
  • System administrator for applicant tracking system. Responsible for troubleshooting problems and advising new employees on how to use the system

Campus Relations


  • Work with Senior leadership, HR Managers and Business Partners to successfully execute Aecon’s Campus Relations strategy across Canada
  • Act as a point of contact for universities and colleges for co-op placements, summer student recruitment and engagement opportunities; attend on and off campus events across Canada




Immigration and Mobility


  • Assist in the preparation of Canadian and US immigration documents prior to submission
  • File, maintain and perform regular audits on temporary foreign worker employee records to ensure compliance with government regulations
  • Track work permit and passport expiry dates and ensure relevant employees always have current work permits
  • Prepare and update mobility documents and templates
  • Work with EA’s to arrange travel for new temporary foreign workers, as well as coordinate move arrangements and ensure a smooth transition to Canada
  • Track taxable benefits provided to temporary foreign workers during move
  • Maintain Global Mobility data and centralized document storage to facilitate program reporting and analytics

Other


  • Develop job alerts and marketing content for Aecon’s social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) on a weekly basis
  • Manage the social media program and act as first point of contact
  • Meet with recruitment and social media vendors to assess potential providers, products and services
  • Generate ad hoc reports through SAP for supervisors and senior management as requested
  • Maintain and update highly confidential information daily
  • Assist with terminations, employee onboarding and new employee orientations for the Calgary office
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required
  • Foster Aecon’s Core Values within the department and throughout the company

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Post-secondary education with a major in Human Resource Management or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience within human resources, with previous recruitment experience required
  • Experience filing Canadian immigration applications an asset
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and emerging project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables
  • Experience with SAP and Success Factors an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate with various audiences, stakeholders and end users
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues by analyzing and evaluating possible solutions
  • Strong customer service skills with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of employees through intuitive business insight and personal credibility; this includes the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrated initiative in recognizing opportunities for improvement and efficiency
