AECOM is seeking an Intermediate Programmer to join our team at our Calgary, Alberta location. This is a Full Time position based in Calgary.
The Intermediate Programmer role provides technical support, maintenance and enhancements of commercial software and custom applications.
This role will be responsible for software development tasks focused on existing software application ecosystem developed primarily with ASP.Net, C#, MS Access/VBA and SQL Server Database with an opportunity for technical advancement working on projects using latest technologies such as Angular, .Net Blazor, REST/Web API and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
+ Perform software development to extend the capabilities of custom applications while strictly adhering to their current architecture
+ Translate functional specifications and other Business Analysis artifacts into both high level and detailed design specifications
+ Identify and document areas of improvement to both system functionality and workflow
+ Provide cost effective alternative approaches and accompanying analysis
+ Provide exceptional customer service to end users and able to resolve their concerns in a timely manner
+ Consult with Subject Matter Experts to record and understand scope of business requirements
+ Work with the team lead to develop project schedule and priorities
+ May be required to travel and work on site

1. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
+ Diploma / Certificate and minimum 4 years practical experience on required skills and qualifications
+ Working knowledge of SQL Server Views and Stored Procedures
+ Understanding of database design, modeling, normalization and database principles
+ Proficient in writing programming codes with .Net C#, MS Access/VBA
+ Ability to effectively deal with multiple competing priorities
+ Strong critical thinker with an aptitude for problem solving
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to articulate complex technical concepts into simple to understand terms
+ Demonstrates strong desire and commitment on self-development, and works towards continuous career advancement
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.
+ Knowledge in Azure SQL is highly desirable.
+ Knowledge on integration of Web SMS platform (Texting System) in a web application is a definite plus.
+ Experience with commercial third party UI tools such as RAD Telerik .
+ Familiarity or experience in any of the following will be a plus for the candidate:
