Onboarding Coordinator - Nuclear At AECOM

AECOM is seeking a Nuclear Onboarding Coordinator to be based in our Kincardine, ON location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the area.

ABOUT US

The Shoreline Power Group is a Joint Venture of Aecon, AECOM and SNC-Lavalin. Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station in Kincardine, Ontario.

This project is part of Bruce Power's Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Power's CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064, the project is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 6 is the first of six reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program.

The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders for Unit 6, as well as construction management and trade labour. Work is scheduled to commence in June 2020, with expected completion in the third quarter of 2022.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

This is a permanent position for an Onboarding Coordinator. The Onboarding Coordinator will report to the Onboarding Manager and will work with the onboarding team to deliver a positive and effective onboarding experience for the FCFR workforce. The Onboarding Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating new-hire orientation, preparing welcome package material and training plans, scheduling onboarding training, ongoing monitoring and scheduling of requalification training and entering and maintaining training records via the Learning Management System. The onboarding coordinator will also be responsible for assessing the onboarding experience and its effectiveness to identify and target areas for improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Source, coordinate and schedule the Orientation Day

+ Develop and prepare material for the Orientation Day

+ Prepare Welcome Package

+ Prepare and assign in the Learning Management System (LMS), the new-hires role-based training plan

+ Prepare Supervisor Checklist & New-Hire Checklist

+ Prepare the new-hires onboarding roadmap

+ Schedule onboarding required training including both Bruce Power and Shoreline

+ Prepare training material for the onboarding training sessions

+ Monitor and follow-up on the completion of orientation and onboarding training requirements (Bruce Power and Shoreline)

+ Schedule, monitor and follow-up on Bruce Power and Shoreline requalification training completion

+ Assist with Bruce Power Security Clearance administration as required

+ Monitor and maintain records/qualifications in the Learning Management System

+ Perform department Self-Assessments to evaluate the experience and effectiveness of the onboarding program & associated training and target areas for improvement as required

Conditions of Employment for this position are:
1. Minimum Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

+ Post-secondary school education in a related field

+ Experience in an office environment, preferably in a human resource and or training role

+ Knowledge of office methods, process & procedures, equipment and filing systems

+ Experience with Success Factors Learning Management System would be an asset

+ High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

+ Problem solving, planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, work to timelines

+ Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written

+ Extremely detail oriented

EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT

+ Constant contact with Project Managers, project personnel, trades supervisors, trades personnel, union business agents

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

+ Office work location

+ Travel to orientation and training delivery sites as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

+ Due to the nature of work conducted by Shoreline mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment

+ Our background check process includes a full security check and clearance process as well as reference checks. The security clearance process includes a comprehensive list of previous residences, employment, education and other pertinent information. Those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred.
