ABOUT YOU
We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-rounded accounting associate, comfortable in a small team environment, with excellent attention to detail, not afraid to ask questions. You are a highly collaborative individual with excellent communication skills and please bring your sense of humor. This is a full-time position reporting to our Controller and will be based at our headquarters in San Francisco.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position will be an individual contributor in the accounting department and reports to the Controller. The department consists of three people including this position. The duties would be to assist in the day to day operations in the department. We are a mature but continuously growing company where one can still make an impact on the department's development.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
In this role, you will perform daily operations accounting tasks in support of 3Degrees business operations including:
All aspects of Accounts Receivables including:
Generating invoices
Collections on overdue accounts
Process bank deposits
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely, courteous manner
Maintaining customer records on both Xero and customers’ platforms
All aspects of Accounts Payable including:
Process vendor invoices for payments
Maintain and process expense reports through Expensify
International banking and processing electronic payments (wire and ACH)
Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely, courteous manner
Maintain vendor records
Perform bank reconciliations
Participate in and support monthly close activities
Create and/or maintain documented systems of accounting policies and procedures
WHAT WE'LL NEED FROM YOU
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within 30 days become familiar with where Accounting information is at 3Degrees. Ex: Payroll is in this folder, worksheets are located in other spots, where items are in Xero. Be able to add and pay bills and invoices through Xero and with the bank(s).
Within 60 days familiar with the close process What the checklist is and where and how to do each of the tasks (with assistance if needed). After 90 days they should be able to do it on their own.
Be comfortable with asking for help (no question is looked down upon), where things are even if you have to ask 2 or 3 times. Be open and comfortable with process changes (we are still growing).
