The Database Administrator is a technical role to manage day-to-day operations in cloud/datacenters, primarily in regards to setup, configuration, optimization and operations of databases. The Database Administrator is part of Service Operations in Professional Services.
The Database Administrator works closely with IT Stack and Application Engineers in Professional Services.
The Database Administrator is in charge of operations of databases (SQL and non-SQL) and supports the application and IT stack teams in regards to database topics whenever needed.
In addition, senior Database Administrators are in charge of the setup, configuration and optimization of databases (SQL and non-SQL).
Responsibilities:
Support Cloud & DC Manager by providing the necessary information to be used in capacity planning.
Inform Regional Head of Service Delivery & Operations and Global Resource Coordinator when unplanned work will impact planned work.
Maintain CMDB and knowledge base in accordance with applicable processes and tools.
Support Application and IT stack team in regards to database topics during projects or operations when needed.
Participate in internal and customer projects.
Provide technical input to Customer Service Manager in regards to incident and problem report creation.
Provide input to compliance and information security related reports requested from Information Security Manager and Service Quality Manager.
Provide input regarding future and continuous needs regarding new investments to maintain existing and future services to Cloud & DC Manager and Regional Head Service Delivery & Operations.
Qualifications:
University degree in Computer Science, IT or related technical/engineering field.
3–5 years of database experience in similar position.
Experience in R&D and IT.
Experience in database management.
Preferably Telecommunications and/or Payment industry experience.
Preferably experience with working across different cultures.
Preferably experience working with Oracle and/or Couchbase databases.
Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders.
