Employment with the Army Reserves
As a Reservist, you will serve part-time with Canadian Armed Forces. At 39 Signal Regiment located in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, and Kelowna, we work Wednesday evenings (7-10PM) and one weekend a month at minimum and there is always full-time work available during summers. Serving with the Army Reserves is voluntary and deployments are not an obligation, but opportunities should you wish to take them.
Being a Reservist is flexible and rewarding. While holding a full-time job or going to school, it will be a second career that offers benefits such as transferable training and leadership development, annual tuition reimbursement up to $2000, a dental plan (90% reimbursed), a pension plan, and optional but guaranteed Full-Time Summer Employment for students.
There are full-time employment opportunities within the Army Reserve. A trained member can go on to sign contracts for incremental (less than 1 year) or permanent (1-3 years) positions in a city of their choice, allowing them to build rewarding careers without being posted from city to city like the Regular Force members do.
